Background
Tang Soo Do teaches mental and physical training which involves the application of co-ordinated agility, power, flexibility and body movements.  These include stances, pattern, breathing exercises, self-defence, sparring and free fighting.

Brief History
Tang Soo Do is an ancient Korean martial art of self defence derived from Korean origins.  Tang Soo Do meaning 'the way of the empty hand' is claimed by its founder that its origin lies in 'Soo Bahk', an ancient Korean martial art some 2000 years old.  In 1945, the Moo Duk Kwan and Chi Do Kwan later formed the Korean Soo Bahk Association in 1960 to develop the study and practice of traditional Tang Soo Do.

The United Kingdom Tang Soo [Soo Bahk] Do Federation [UKTSDF] was founded in 1974.  After two decades of Tang Soo Do promotion in the UK, the Federation has trained over 23,000 members and is the sole governing body for the Korean Martial Art of Tang Soo Do in Great Britain as recognised and supported by the Sports Council.  From its foundation in 1974 as a martial arts body offering Tang Soo Do training, the UKTSDF has risen to become one of Britain's leading martial arts organisations.

Throughout our period of expansion our basic priority has remained: to provide the best possible environment, technically and socially, for everyone who teaches and trains with the United Kingdom Tang Soo [Soo Bahk] Do Federation.
