Is there more to sportsearch?

""

sportsearch will not only be about young people completing physical tasks. CD-ROM/Internet hybrid technology will allow users to access the sportsearch, Sport England and NGfL web sites.

At the sportsearch web site visitors will be able to find information about local sports clubs, link to National Governing Bodies of sport and access local sports information from their ‘Community Grids’ in addition to accessing highly informative content.

Young people will be able to use their task results in a number of ways. They will be informed of which sports they could be good at and how to contact local sports clubs, advised on how to maintain and improve their fitness, access a database of information, take part in surveys, become involved with research projects and enter competitions.

Teachers will be able to access information regarding Sport England’s products and services, especially information about ‘Active Schools’. Discussion groups, on-line forums and bulletin boards are all planned for the sportsearch website post-pilot.
